Baby Food & Infant Formula Manufacturing Pressures

    1. Compliance with existing and new food safety and labelling regulations.
New Labelling Regulation – Nutrition Facts Label: From July 2018, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requires all packaged food to clearly display full nutritional information. Dairy products, which are labelled as milk, must contain dairy milk and must not be derived from heavily processed or unrecognised plant sources
New Infant Formula Registration – China’s Food and Drug Administration (CFDA): All domestic and foreign manufacturers must register their infant formula. The ingredients, food additives, formula and labels of baby formula must be recorded at provincial level. Baby milk formulas that are manufactured overseas and imported to China must not be repackaged for import purposes. For manufacturers of baby milk powder, the same formula cannot be used under different brand names
    2. Avoiding product recalls and associated costs
    3. Safeguarding infants from sub-standard products
    4. Ensuring products are secure and cannot be tampered with

How Product Inspection Technologies Future-Proof Baby Food Manufacturing

Innovative inspection solutions, from contaminant detection and checkweighing to label inspection and data monitoring, are designed to be flexible. This ensures that the technologies complete all the integrity checks needed to comply with current and, anticipated, future food safety and labelling regulations. It also means adaptability to new product and packaging types by easy programming of the system. Baby food manufacturers benefit from decreased total cost of ownership (TCO) in their investment with the confidence that all product and packaging integrity checks are upheld.
